I Tried Filorga's "Botox-Inspired" Serum on My Forehead Wrinkles

Oct 19, 2024

When I covered the summer restock of Filorga’s Time-Filler Shot 5-XP ($76), NewBeauty readers took notice. Flocking to filorga.com and Amazon, our audience scooped up the French serum in droves before it could sell out again. Why all the hype? Described by the brand as a “baby Botox-inspired” serum, Time-Filler Shot 5-XP delivers a needle-free dose of skin-relaxing peptides, moisturizing polysaccharides and toning marine ferment, resulting in relaxed muscles, fewer wrinkles and improved skin tone. (It can be used on five of the most common expression lines: crow’s feet, “11 lines,” upper lip lines, marionette lines and forehead wrinkles.)

After my initial research (where one reviewer said it’s “better than advertised”) and witnessing its popularity among our readers, I knew I had to try it—and I have just the forehead wrinkles to test it on.

I am 36 years old, and I’ve had deep, indented forehead lines for some time now. The one time I’ve gotten neurotoxins, I assumed the dermatologist would go right to my forehead, but, on me, they actually advised against it. Thus, I’ve embraced (reluctant) acceptance, and gone about my daily skin care routine in hopes to at least soften the appearance of my wrinkles. Simply put, trying a new serum couldn’t hurt.

Time-Filler Shot 5-XP is designed with a precision applicator to easily target desired areas. (It’s not meant for use as a full face serum.) And a little goes a long way; I apply three dots directly on my most prominent forehead lines (after cleansing but before moisturizer) and massage in. The texture of the serum is light and silky, but not liquidy, and once rubbed in it did not leave a sticky film behind—so far, so good. My only note is there is a light fragrance. I normally steer clear of all fragrances in my facial skin care (out of preference, not sensitivity), but the scent is subtle enough to look past it.

I’m so glad I did, because our readers, shoppers and reviewers were not wrong about this one. After a week using Time-Filler Shot 5-XP twice a day, I see a visible difference in my forehead lines. My deepest lines really do look softer (but not frozen), while others are barely noticeable. Plus, my entire forehead looks and feels smoother. I’ve already started applying it in other areas that could also use a little softening (hello, crow’s feet).

Let Filorga turn you from a from a skeptic (me, then) to a believer (me, now). Time-Filler Shot 5-XP is available on filorga.com and on Amazon.
